A recipe for fast pizza with quick homemade pizza dough
TheCookWorld brings you a recipe for quick homemade pizza dough. I baked this pizza on a baking stone, but it is possible to use the regular oven.
Let’s make pizza:
Homemade Pizza
Quick Homemade Pizza Dough Ingredients:
500 grams of flour (3½ cups *)
2 teaspoons dry yeast
1½ Teaspoon of salt
320 ml cold water (1⅓ cups *)
1½ Teaspoon of sugar
4 tablespoons olive oil
* A measurement cup volume is 240 ml.
Tomato Sauce Ingredients:
Olive oil
Tablespoon of balsamic vinegar (optional)
3 finely chopped tomatoes
5 finely diced cloves of garlic
Basil leaves
Teaspoon of sugar
1½ teaspoons salt
2 ½ tablespoons tomato paste
black pepper
Pizza Topping Ingredients
300 grams of mozzarella cheese (150 grams for pizza)
Oregano leaves (possible dry, but I prefer fresh)
Fresh basil leaves
Tomato sauce preparation:
Heat a pan with olive oil, add the diced garlic and basil leaves (add the garlic and basil while the oil is still cold). Cook for 3~5 minutes.
Add in the chopped tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, and sugar.
Lower the heat and cook for 10 minutes.
Add the tomato paste, salt, and pepper.
* If the sauce is too thick, add some water to the mixture.
Set the sauce aside to cool down.
Homemade pizza recipe:
Quick Homemade Pizza Dough - how to prepare it
- Add flour, sugar, and yeast into a bowl (do not put salt at this stage) and mix together.
- Make a well (small hole) in the center of the mixture and add the water, olive oil, and salt.
- Knead the mixture manually or in a mixer on medium speed until the mixture becomes an elastic dough (about 8 minutes kneading).
- Dust the dough with flour, cover it with plastic wrap and let it rise until it doubles in size.
For oven baking:
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees celsius.
- Place baking sheet in an oven tray, and dust with flour the baking sheet.
- Shape the dough with your hands or a floured rolling pin until you reach the round-shaped size you want.
- Place the round dough on the baking sheet and spread it with tomato sauce (keep the edges clean to get a crispy dough all around) and sprinkle oregano over the sauce.
* At this point, don’t put cheese on top.
- Bake it in the oven for 10 minutes.
- Remove the dough from the oven and add the mozzarella cheese on top.
- Return to the oven and bake it for another 10 minutes or until the bottom of the pizza is browned.
- Take out from the oven, and sprinkle basil on top.
For baking with baking-stone:
- Preheat the oven to 250 degrees celsius with the baking stone placed in the oven.
- Dust with flour on a pizza peel, and put the round dough on it.
- Spread with tomato sauce (keep edges clean to get a crispy dough all around).
- Sprinkle oregano and mozzarella cheese over.
- Slide the pizza over the hot drop stone.
- Baking time is about 8-10 minutes, depending on the heat of the stone. Every two minutes, lift the pizza slightly and turn it a little.
- The pizza is ready when its bottom is browned.
- Take it out from the oven and sprinkle basil leaves on top.
That’s all, so easy and super delicious.
