A minute steak recipe and grilled salad: a recipe for making “minute steak” at home with tahini and grilled Arabian salad, and an explanation of how to prepare a quick, tasty, and inexpensive meal
Minute steak - recipe
There are days when there is simply no time to cook, or there is no energy to spend too much on complicated recipes, yet we are looking for the perfect nutritious and surprising dish, if you are on that day, Minute Steak is exactly the recipe you are looking for.
Minute steak or “one minute steak” is an easy and simple recipe whose searing/grilling process takes one to three minutes (depending on the thickness of the meat) and the preparation of the recipe including the toppings will take you about half an hour. Half an hour and you have a gourmet dish with a dreamy taste that doesn’t put luxury restaurants to shame.
The minuet steak can be made from different types of cuts – Denver cut – sirloin – picania – fillet and many other cuts, in fact most of the cuts when cut into thin slices become a minuet steak.
My favorite cut for this dish is an aged Denver cut, a marbled cut whose fat turns into butter in the grill, with some toppings underneath, and here it is – heaven on a plate.
Ingredients for two people:
- 450 grams of thinly sliced aged Denver Cut
- 6 small tomatoes
- 1 red Bell Pepper
- 1 yellow Bell Pepper
- 1 onion
- One or two hot peppers (depending on how hot you like it).
- Tehina
- garlic clove
- Half a lemon for squeezing
Start cooking:
Prepare the tahini: in a bowl, mix tahini with cold water, lemon juice from half a squeezed lemon, a crushed clove of garlic, and salt, it is important that the tahini remains thick and not too much liquid.
Roast the tomatoes, bell pepper, onion, and hot pepper on the stove until blackened.
Peel the roasted vegetables and finely chop them for a delicious grilled salad, add salt to the salad.
Heat a plancha or a thick pan to high heat, oil the pieces of meat (no need for salt and pepper at this stage). When the pan is hot, pour in olive oil and grill the steaks, a minute on each side will be enough (depending on the thickness) and the meat is ready, season with salt and pepper.
Plating time:
Spread a plate of tahini and put a grilled salad on top.
Place the minute steak on a plate.
To finish, put some more grilled salad on top of the steaks.
